Future of Mobility and Cities
We are exploring the technological and societal trends that will shape the future of mobility and cities. We are envisioning what vehicles and transportation infrastructure will look like in 2050 and identifying the paths that will lead us there. In doing so, we are initiating the discussions that we need to have today to make tomorrow’s future a reality.
These are just a few of the foreseeable trends and the associated societal and political questions. To avoid an increasing polarization of society, we need to start discussing these issues today. Insights gained from the discourse can help overcome fears and harness the potentials of the future.

White Paper “Future of Mobility and Cities”
Our white paper on the future of mobility and cities discusses the changes we might face in 2050. It develops hypotheses for a positive and realistic utopia and formulates milestones to reach that goal.
- Should autonomous mobility become the standard in 2050?
- Can urban centers be transformed into “cities of short distances” without forced mobility?
- Can mobility concepts upgrade rural areas to the extent that further urbanization is counteracted?
